Here we go another mix. These tracks mean a lot to me. Badly mixed, however :( I'll have to do them justice later.

Spring Break Mixed Badly

So, I decided to make an "ocean" mix today. I picked some chilled tracks to start it off. And here it is, hope everyone is enjoying spring break!

Just finished throwing together a mix, where somehow the audio kept getting cut out of the left? wtf? IDK (frustrating!!!) :(

Regardless, this may be my last mix for about two weeks. This weekend I'm leaving to go to FL for spring break! spring break! spring break! Anywho, I'm taking my equipment with me and I'll be mixing there but I don't know if I'll have access to the intarwebz to upload stuff's. We'll see.

So here it is, my little 3 2 1 0 mix, and it of course sucks :/ it was still fun though!

5 Hour Gig

This past saturday was my friend Bri's 21st birthday. So she held a small party over at a mutual friend's apartment. I was, of course, asked to play music for the party. After checking with all the neighbors that some loud music and heavy bass was agreeable for a few hours, the music commenced. I ended up playing a little over five hours but got less than 300 minutes recorded. Some friends took turns at the decks, some of them were more sober than others :) sooo some of the transitions are iffy, and may not necessarily be my bad work (though it most likely is!). regardless, it was a ton of fun and hearing it so loudly was exhillarating. Enjoy

The Weekend!

Fridays are Saturdays. It's such a gift. What else could I do but spend as much time I can mixing? Just finished badly mixing some vocal trance which I will upload shortly. Tomorrow night is by friend's 21st birthday, sooo I'll be hopefully playing all night for that one, which is pretty exciting. Perhaps if it goes remotely smoothly I'll upload a mega-party-mix thing from that but we'll see. On a side note, I have also had an insane hankerin' for tea today so I have had an inordinate amount of trips to the bathroom.

Transition two was pretty good, everything else was subpar for sure.

Vocal Trance

A History of Choonage

During my junior year of high school, I stumbled (not with firefox stumble) upon John Digweed's heavenscent. I didn't know what house music was. I didn't understand what techno meant. But whatever those sounds were I loved. I couldn't get enough but I was still hung up on relatively bad music like say anything and seether (still having all that music on my computer is embarrassing ahhaha). It wasn't until my freshman year in college that my friend Bbarns introduced my to the kind of music i secretly fell in love with earlier; Electronic Dance Music. I specifically loved trance then, but I love it even more now. Finally, after listening to EDM and trance for about two years, I decided to take the plunge and buy some equipment to further understand djing. Boom!

Those are my babies. I have had them for about 5 months now. But I have not been practicing enough. So, it's like I have only been djing for around a month. Here and now I promise to myself and everyone else that I will do my very best to practice at least 6 times a week. I will then upload mixes as often as I can in order to prove to myself and everyone else that I am improving steadily. I will also keep a log of shows and parties and consider things that worked and things that didn't work. OK, so there we go. Here is the first mix, very rushed from last night. It's some housy and electro tracks. I think the 3rd (or maybe it's the 4th) transition is the best. Enjoy!
